Person-Centered Contraceptive Care: A Panel Discussion on Implementation and Impact

Panelists for the PCRHP panel at the Society of Family Medicine meeting

PCRHP recently convened a panel discussion focused on implementing person-centered contraceptive care workflows in clinical practice at the Society of Family Planning Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh, PA.

The panel explored PCRHP's PQM-endorsed performance measures, including PCCC, PCCC-RS, and Contraceptive Use eCQMs—tools designed to help healthcare organizations measure and improve the quality of contraceptive counseling and care delivery.

Liza Fuentes from the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation moderated the discussion, which brought together key voices from across the reproductive health field. Panelists included Dr. Dehlendorf, along with implementation partners Hannah Simons from Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Nora Sande, formerly of the National University of Natural Medicine. The panel also featured Navida Banderas, a member of PCRHP's Patient Stakeholder Group who played a vital role in shaping the development of these performance measures.

The conversation highlighted real-world experiences implementing person-centered care approaches and underscored the importance of patient voices in designing meaningful quality metrics for reproductive healthcare.
